The two companies were pleased to announced the launch of the limited-edition mytheresa.com x Tommy Hilfiger re-edition collection capsule which will be available to consumers on October 22nd,2015 exclusively on mytheresa.com. The collection features modernized versions of the brand’s iconic ‘90s sportswear pieces. Eight pieces will form the capsule, which will be designed under the Hilfiger Collection label.
An official statement from Tommy Hilfiger read, “The mytheresa.com x Tommy re-edition collection revisits ‘90s nostalgia and celebrates iconic styles from our archives. Some of my favorite designs from my early years have been modernized for today with innovative fabrications, luxe fabrics and modern silhouettes. As we wrap-up our 30th anniversary celebrations this year, it felt like an exciting moment to share these iconic looks with the new generation of Tommy fans.” Meanwhile, buying director of mytheresa.com Justin O’Shea stated, “What I love about Tommy is the American heritage. The point of this collaboration is to celebrate the credibility which he generated in the ‘90s, which continues to resonate today amongst the next generation of Tommy fans. We mixed in fabrications from the American football-inspired Fall 2015 collection to give it a modern twist. This was such a fun project!”
To showcase the exclusive line and capture its retrospective yet modern feel, model and actress sisters Suki and Immy Waterhouse were photographed by Zackery Michael for the exclusive capsule collection. This marks the first time the sisters have worked together on a fashion project. The capsule collection will include a fluid varsity jacket, boxer shorts and a variety of sweatshirts and football dresses. The colour palette features will undoubtedly include the iconic antique white and classic red. Signature Hilfiger touches are implemented via luxe, velvet finishes with varsity details (like satin H appliques, velvet jacquard stripes, flags, numbers and embroidered script) at the helm. Retail prices for the exclusive capsule collection will range from $198 to $645 USD.
