The basic concept is to use oils to clean your face instead of traditional cleansers, as oils can be massaged into the face in order to dissolve hardened oils in your pores and to clean them out. Many are jumping onto the oil cleansing bandwagon-I mean, like dissolves like right?

The first brand that comes up is shu uemura, an extremely popular makeup and skincare brand from Asia, who gained international success mostly due to their famous eyelash curlers. Their oils has been “holy grail” products to skincare junkies everywhere, and they have many different formulations of oils for every skin type. It’s clear to say that they definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to oil cleansers.

Another strong contender for being a good oil cleanser is the Josie Maran one. It’s used by many people and the reviews for it are generally very positive and it claims to remove impurities from skin and hydrate it at the same time.

Whether or not you buy into the oil cleansing trend, one thing it can do for sure if remove all the makeup you’re wearing. Using oils to take off makeup has been a tried and true method for many years now, and shows no signs of stopping, so if you’re too scared to try out oil cleansing for your skin at first, try oils for makeup removal and work your way to an oil cleanser!
